The Gobernadora Island (8 km2, 5 sq. Miles) is located at the entrance of the Gulf of Montijo, on the pacific coast of the Veraguas Province, just a few miles off Coiba Island National Park. It still lives until today following the rythm of seasons and tides. Its inhabitants, mostly fishermen, cultivate an atmosphere of serenity and peace. There are no roads nor cars here, one moving either by boat, by feet or following the trails.
